If you are not among the 93% women who regularly skip meals for various reasons, you might not need the supplements with your diet. But if you are among the meal skippers there is a deemed necessity for you to take supplements for leading a healthy life.
Good quality vitamins for women perform important functions such as slowing of aging process, keeping them energized, strengthening the immune system, slowing the aging process, and balancing the productions of female hormones. They need many nutrients different from men as they have a much varied body structure and a totally varied hormonal usage than the men.
Black Cohosh: They may control the hot flashes during menopause. Headaches and stomach discomforts are the possible side effects. Must not be taken by pregnant women or those suffering from breast cancer.
Echenasea: Might lessen the severity of colds and infections.
Ginger: May lessen the severity of nausea and vomiting, motion sickness, morning sickness in the times of pregnancy.
Gingko Biloba: May improve memory and concentration, improve circulation, improve circulation, reduce the symptoms of vertigo and aid in treatment of dementia along with the Alzeimer's disease.
Ginseng: It improves metabolism, promotes immunity, improves memory and concentration and possibly reduces the risk of cancer.
Lycopene: Reduces the risk of heart diseases and cancer.
Vitamin A: Boosts immunity, promotes bone and tissue formations and protects vision.
Vitamin D: Prevents osteoporosis by strengthening bones. Also lowers the risk of colon cancer, multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis, while also protecting vision.
Taking supplements along with the the routine diet has become very important in the present times as the food items that we take lack in some or the other nutrients.
Again, it is better to take multivitamins than a single vitamin for the reason that where a single vitamin pill can fulfill your body needs for that particular vitamin, a multivitamin saves you money compared with buying dozens of individual bottles, and the nutrients will work better as a team.
You can get all kinds of supplements, for men or women, through online retail stores of rel=nofollow [http://www.vitakem.com]vitamin supplement manufacturers who can be accessed directly through the internet.

9 Vitamins & Supplements to Improve Your Memory
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Emily_Clark]Emily Clark
Does this describe you: You walk into the living room to get
something, only to get there and forget what you needed? You
often hear "Yes, you already told me about that" or maybe you
thought you told someone, but you never actually verbalized it.
Someone tells you their name and then ninety seconds later you
say, "Ok, tell me your name again."
Perhaps you're not as young as you used to be, you have more on
your plate to keep track of or you have a diagnosed or even
undiagnosed medical condition. Whatever the reason, you seem to
be plagued with a bad case CRS - Can't Remember Squat. First and
foremost if you haven't had a physical exam in a while, go see
your doctor. You'll want to rule out anything serious that may
be causing your CRS. Barring any serious findings, you can take
some herbs, vitamins and other supplements to help regain some of
your memory. The vitamins, herbs and supplements listed below
may help.
Essential Fatty Acids, otherwise known as fish oils or EPA-DHA
are well known for their anti-inflammatory activity. Furthermore,
DHA is required for normal brain function in adults. Decreases in
brain DHA content are associated with age-related cognitive
decline, dementia, and Alzheimer's disease.
Studies suggest that Polyphenol found in the skins of red grapes
and various other plants may protect against inflammation and
cognitive disorders.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA) is also an excellent antioxidant agent in
neurodegenerative diseases due to the fact that it can interrupt
free radical damage at several points. It has been shown to
elevate antioxidants in various brain regions and improves
memory. Further, ALA supports healthy blood glucose levels and
insulin activity.
Coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant cofactor that has been shown to
protect the brain. In addition to being a potent free radical
scavenger, CoQ10 has proven to be effective in a wide variety of
age-related conditions.
Vitamin E is the primary antioxidant found in all tissues. Low
vitamin E levels are consistently associated with an increased
risk and occurrence of neurological diseases, including
Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. In a study of patients with
Alzheimer's, treatment with 2000 IU of vitamin E per day for 2
years was beneficial in delaying the primary outcome (time to the
occurrence of death, institutionalization, loss of ability to
perform activities of daily living, and severe dementia) of
disease progression.
Ginkgo biloba extract is an approved treatment for dementia in
Germany, and it is the only nonprescription substance considered
a treatment for dementia in Canada. Ginkgo biloba is one extract
readily available. It enhances mental efficiency in elderly
patients with mild to moderate memory impairment. It is also
shown to improve cognitive function in patients with dementia, to
enhance blood flow to the brain, enhances cognitive performance
in patients with Alzheimer's disease. Further it is said to
enhance memory in young individuals.
Adaptogenic herbs have been shown to reduce the negative effects
of stress. Due to the decreased ability to handle stress and the
increased levels of glucocorticoids associated with aging and
neurodegeneration, herbs with adaptogenic properties may be
beneficial. Ayurvedic herbs such as ashwagandha, holy basil, and
brahmi have a positive influence on stress response, mental
function, and cognition.
Carotenoids are a class of naturally occurring plant pigments
that provide the bright red, orange, and yellow colors of fruits
and vegetables. A balanced intake of mixed carotenoids, as found
in a healthy diet, provides the best protection against oxidative
damage.
Folate and vitamins B6 and B12 are needed for proper brain
function. Insufficiencies of these nutrients may result in
forgetfulness, memory loss, confusion, depression, dementia, and
mood and sensory changes. One study stated that age-related
impairment of cognitive function is likely related to vitamin
deficiencies, and is "preventable or reversible with improved
vitamins, especially vitamin B6, vitamin B12, and folate."
Additionally, scientists searching for a cure for Alzheimer's
disease have found a potential ally in the herb sage. Checking
the writings of herbalists working four centuries ago, scientists
in England found a marked improvement in the memory capabilities
of Alzheimer's patients who took sage oil extract. The finding
was consistent with a discovery by researchers at the
Universities' Medicinal Plant Research Center that sage protects
a key chemical destroyed in Alzheimer's.
This list is not all inclusive and there could be a number of
other factors (environment, diet, disease) that could be the root
cause of your CRS. However, starting with a few supplements may
help you remember where you left your car keys!

Supplements - Vitamins and Minerals - Do They Live Up to Their Hype?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ross_Harrison]Ross Harrison
People spend billions of dollars a year on supplements and while some of them are definitely worth the money, many others do not come close to living up to what they promise. Therefore I decided to write this series of articles to take a closer look at which supplements are beneficial and worth the money and which ones simply do not live up to their hype or are overpriced for the benefits they provide.
The supplements I am covering in this article are vitamins and minerals. Naturally, every vitamin and mineral has a somewhat different function in your body, but when it comes to how beneficial they are, there are some similarities across the board. Supplementing with any vitamin or mineral can have significant positive effects for your body, but only under certain circumstances.
By far the greatest improvement from taking vitamin or mineral supplements is seen when you take a supplement that contains substances that you have a deficiency in. Vitamin or mineral deficiencies cause numerous problems related to how your body functions, such as decreased energy, increased aches or pains, weakened immune system, poor bone density, etc. When you take a supplement that corrects a deficiency, the negative symptom(s) can be greatly improved.
On the other hand, if you already get enough of a vitamin or mineral, taking more of it generally provides minimal, if any, further improvements. People often have the attitude that if one serving is good, then two or three servings must be better, but this is not the case. Your goal when taking vitamins and minerals is to give your body as much as it needs to function properly, but anything more than that results in diminishing returns.
I should point out that the amounts of vitamins and minerals your body needs is not always adequately reflected by the RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance). In some cases, such as with Vitamin C and other antioxidants, the amount you need to gain some of the benefits can be many times higher than the RDA. Determining how much you need is a complicated issue and certainly too big to be covered in this article, but I may discuss that issue in a future article.
Another important note about vitamins and minerals is that most of the time the benefits are subtle and occur over a long period of time. This is because it takes a while to increase the level of a nutrient in your body. If you have a significant deficiency, just taking a supplement for a week will not be enough to get your level back to normal. In most cases it takes weeks or even months to alter your nutrient levels and the benefits occur gradually over this time, so you may not actually notice the change.
To sum up vitamins and minerals, if you have any significant deficiencies, which most people do, supplementing with those nutrients is definitely beneficial and the results are worth the money. On the other hand, if you already get enough of a specific vitamin or mineral, taking more of it rarely provides additional benefits. However, as with any supplement, different people will experience different results, so there is always an element of trial and error.

Glucosamine helps in attempting to keep joint parts and cartilage lubricated, not to mention boosting the development of glycosaminoglycans, that is definitely the key structural component in cartilage. Aside from encouraging the generation of new cartilage, glucosamine also suppresses the digestive enzymes that digest cartilage. Glucosamine is very best when combined with the necessary aiding factors Vitamin C, Manganese, copper, zinc, and dl-methionine.
The key amino acid dl-methionine in addition has been interrelated to the formation and toughness of the necessary protein Keratin, which compensates most of the hoof wall.
The trace nutrient zinc is frequently poor in equine diet programs and is critical for hoof health.
Other vitamins, like fatty acids, L-lysine, Vitamin C, Manganese, Selenium carry out a more roundabout position in hoof quality. Well recognized for its role in the structure of bones and teeth. Calcium furthermore performs an indispensable role in muscle contraction, cell membranes, glandular secretion, the regulation of temperature, and blood clotting. Calcium absorption from the small intestine is managed by Vitamin D but can be lowered if there may be excessive Phosphorus in the diet. Horses must get a bit more Calcium than Phosphorus. In addition, essential to the nutritious growth and protection of bones and teeth, and is usually recommended for overall metabolism and cellular functions. There needs to be somewhat less Phosphorus compared to Calcium in a horses eating plan to stop illnesses.
Amongst the many advantages of Arnica Montana is its use as a prophylactic towards disorders turning septic, that could be particularly valuable in stopping pus infections in the hooves of the horse.Hypericum Perforatum can aid the prevention of tetanus after puncture injuries and can alleviate the soreness of ruined neural system.
Significant Suggestions for Equine Diet
"Your equine that has a hoof issue will surely gain from everyday dosage with the preferred quality horse vitamin supplements. There are various ingredients which promote healthy hoof horn, the most recognized being Biotin, mainly for those horses prone to laminitis. Biotin and additional important B vitamins raise the quality of the hooves.
Some tests executed on the most effective level of Biotin for a horse were publicized initially in a variety of horse catalogues and publications. They noticed better growing rates and hardness of hooves with the usage of biotin at an everyday rate of feeding of 15mg. The highest quality horse supplement products hold 16mg Biotin.
Biotin is the most common component in hoof supplements, and study and testing has proved that Biotin advances the growth of hooves and well being. Biotin is a B vitamin, and like all B Vitamins it is soluble in water so it should be used on a daily basis. Preferred ranges of Biotin are around 15mg-20mg/day (quality horse supplements contain 16mg of Biotin). It is always relevant to note that Biotin has effects on the unique progression of the hoof, so it can take time to see the positive results.
Additionally, research as far back as 1987 have shown that attainable calcium and fundamental amino acids (almost all comprised in horse supplement goods) upgraded the growth and horse hooves' quality."
The joint support of the top horse vitamin supplements available in the market is dependant upon the heavily researched and valuable ingredient, Glucosamine. Glucosamine is helpful when given by mouth to race horses, and is assimilated economically by equines.

Vitamin Supplement
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Monique_Chainanni]Monique Chainanni
People in the government believe that we don't need vitamin supplements. Do you think people should stop taking supplements? My question this government employee is why do they take all the medications prescribe by the doctors that treat them for their common ailments. I'm sure our bodies were not designed for us to be taking pills every day. And maybe they should try vitamin supplements before filling their bodies with all this medications with all the detrimental side effects.
Yes, there is the evidence that people feel better when they take vitamins supplements. And this evidence is the kind of evidence that has more validity than any test performed by the government. What better evidence is there than the personal experience people have when they take vitamin supplements. There are case studies documented in a good number of articles of people who claim they got better when they started taking some sort of vitamin supplement. So why do people that take vitamin supplements seem to be doing better than people that don't? What is wrong with the food we eat every day in our busy life? Why do people take vitamin C to keep their resistance at higher levels?
Speaking from personal experience I used to get the common cold more often than expected but soon after I gradually started taking Vitamin C up to 3,000 milligrams per day the common cold became a think of the pass. Are our vegetables and fruits enough? Yes, vegetables are good as long as you can go hand pick them yourself from the garden and not eat all the mishandled produce and processed food. I would highly recommend for more people to start growing their own vegetable gardens I must inform you that I have gotten my children involved also and it helps us spent more quality time together. I wish I could show you pictures of the vegetables grown in our yard.
It has been shown that Vitamin C is very sensitive to our manipulation. For example the more you chop or shred or blend your food the more vitamin C is lost. Hence fruits and vegetables that are processed in the home and kept a day or more before they are eaten will lose about thirty to seventy percent of their vitamin C. One other thing discovered is that some of the vitamin C in pasteurized juice is biologically inactive that is, it has no use in helping us maintain a healthy body.
Some of the research I have done includes a study performed on potatoes which are not that high on vitamin C. But because our population eats them on a regular basis as potato chips which are dehydrated potatoes it is important you know the truth. The study concluded that these products contain no vitamin C. Makes you wonder whether the government food tables may be inaccurate.
I leave you with this thought! Be careful what you eat because it has been said you are what you eat.
I'm from Brazil and I don't know if you can follow my path of thought but I will try to be as clear as possible. I have very important message for all people that want to be healthy.

Vitamin Supplements - Is a More Expensive Multivitamin Brand Worth Your Money?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Henri_K._Junttila]Henri K. Junttila
Are vitamin supplements really worth your money? Is a more expensive multivitamin brand better than the cheaper ones? I think you may find the following information fascinating and life-changing, so keep reading.
I've been researching ways to improve my health natural for over half a decade. I was always interested in natural health, because I felt like there was something wrong with the medical establishment.
There are a lot of multivitamin brands you can choose from, and you are right in asking the question whether spending more money is worth it or not. To be honest, I went for the cheap supplements in the beginning.
In hindsight, I regret it, because even though they were cheaper, they were a waste of money. If I would have spent some extra money, I would have experienced the actual benefits that everyone is talking about.
When I finally switched from cheap supplements to something more in the mid-range, I could really feel it. I even recommended the supplement I use now to my girlfriend and mother, who are both raving about the effects they are feeling.
Is a more expensive multivitamin brand worth your money? My answer would have to be definitely, BUT you have to do your research and educate yourself, because there are many expensive supplements out there that are scams.
We as consumers have to stay up-to-date with what is going on in the natural supplement industry. It is a booming industry, which means every company is trying to get their share of the pie.
This leads to bad products and poorly-managed companies.
How to Find the Best Multivitamin Brand
With all that said, I'm sure you're wondering how exactly you can find a multivitamin brand that makes a difference in your health.
It all comes down to the ingredients. Look out for chemicals and look for natural substances, such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, adaptogens, herbal extracts and specialty nutrients.
If you want more information, you can always visit my website.
IMPORTANT BONUS TIP!
If you want to find the best vitamin supplement: you need to do your research! Find the supplements that deliver on their promises and you will discover, like I did, that staying healthy, happy and vibrant is not as difficult as some would have you believe!
Visit http://www.natural-supplements-advice.com/ to discover the exact secrets and lies I uncovered that brand name supplement manufacturers do not want you to know!

Buying Hair Loss Vitamin Supplements to Curb Your Thinning Hair
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Christopher_Litmon]Christopher Litmon
If you desire to have more hair on your head and want to avoid losing it, one way to make this happen is by purchasing hair loss vitamin supplements. It is just as important to take care of alopecia from the inside as it is from the outside. Vitamins are the best ways to make this happen.
But just what do you use in order to achieve this? That's what I want to cover in this article. I'm going to reveal to you a few of the ones I've personally used and show you just how well they really are.
When it came time to regrow my hair and stop it from falling out, I relied heavily on two important brands of supplements. They were Provillus and Procerin. If you have heard about these two before then you know that they come as a topical solution as well that you can massage into your scalp.
This is fine and all but more importantly we want to consider how both utilize the use of their vitamin supplements. Both products contain an oral supplement that you have to take twice a day. Saw palmetto, pumpkin seed, nettle root as well as vitamins like biotin are included in these vitamin supplements for hair growth.
These are some of the finest ingredients you can find to help combat thinning hair. You have to stop the production of the hormone DHT in order to prevent future hair loss. The many herbal extracts contained in them will do the job perfectly.
Be careful when jumping from one product to the next. It can be a disaster, which is why I'm giving away my [http://www.hair-loss-secret.com/hairagainreview.html]fifteen page report revealing how to truly [http://www.hair-loss-secret.com/hairagainreview.html]regrow hair naturally without the hassles.

Lamberts Supplements and Vitamins

Lamberts Supplements and Vitamins
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Heather_Hemmings]Heather Hemmings
Lamberts healthcare is at the leading edge of responsible nutrition and nutritional supplements. Since the early 1980s they have been a market leader in research and development of new supplements and this looks set to be a trend that continues.
Although based in Kent, in the south east of England, Lamberts have representative practitioners all over the world, making their products the easiest and usually cost effective quality products available. Customer feedback indicates that in many countries the range and effectiveness of available supplements are limited, and Lamberts supplements fill this gap in many regions. Europe and the Middle East are well covered and new practitioners from all countries are increasingly using and recommending their vitamins to their patients and customers.
Student and Scientific Programs
They have a wide reaching programme that is very involved in supporting students in the nutrition field, with much talent being brought into the industry this way. Innovation often comes from the exchange of academic, scientific, medical and commercial ideas that programs such as these generate, and the future innovations of the company will depend on a flow of new nutritional scientists and experts coming successfully through the academic system.
Buying Lamberts Products
Buying their supplements is the surest way to reap the benefits of all their research and programs which are all carried out with customer health as a primary goal.
As well as supplementary practitioners, they supplies to many pharmacists, large and small, and many of the supplements and vitamin products will be frequently recommended by GPs and other doctors and consultants. Pharmacies whose customer base is growing rapidly more aware of supplements and their effects are often stocking much of our range of products. All of the practitioners and pharmacies who supply Lamberts supplements are checked and verified before they can do so, enabling customers to feel secure in an excellent and trustworthy product.
The company has for years been committed to labelling bottles and packaging clearly and correctly, which combined with their scientific testing and trials allows someone using Lamberts vitamins and other products to get the correct dosage. Over-dosing can be just as bad as or worse than under-dosing. Dietary supplements are often required in very exact doses, which is what makes the difference between a quality product and one that just contains the chemical in question in a poorly usable, incorrect configuration. Horse Supplements - What Are Some of Vitamins Found in Them?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ryan_Ready]Ryan Ready
Well before providing dietary supplements to your equines, it is again, incredibly important to understand the ingredients that are used in these natural supplements. Dietary fiber is one of them. Though not a nutrient by itself, an ideal amount of fibre is involved in horse coat supplements. Fibre, delivers the majority or roughage fundamental in the horse's eating plan to stimulate right digestion and absorption of the important nutrients in equine supplement formulas. The quality horse vitamin supplements possess electrolytes. Electrolytes are inorganic nutrient salts which will when mixed in water or bodily liquids create electrically positive and negatively charged ions.
They are really necessary to appropriate entire body kind of functionality. Because of electrolyte losses from major sweating, horses in level of competition or ones that undergo high physical tiredness, mainly in conditions of powerful heat and humidity, frequently require electrolyte support. Race horses being relocated long distances also benefit from electrolyte supplementation as a result of lack of fluids and electrolyte deficits.
You'll find plenty of natural supplements out there to buy these days. Nonetheless, some are developed, nicely balanced and buffered to meet the demands of all forms of equines, and quite a few are high priced and very hard to implement day-to-day.Bear in mind to have equine supplement formula that are of the best quality. Trust and believe in fantastic supplements for horses to do the task effortlessly, securely and effectively. Above all, they have to be stacked away in a cooler space, at all times making a point that the lid is installed securely to keep the nutritional supplements fresh. Sunlight exposure should never be done at all. Next, it's very crucial not to exceed the regular 'recommended intake mentioned for almost any type of horse supplement.
All the stuff you eat in your daily diet plan points to to what your body will appear to be and how your entire body responds to diseases. Like individuals, "horses are what they eat". Ideal food consumption is actually more essential than a fine breeding, schooling or training. This feeding concept goes with equines likewise. Apart from feeding them the most suitable quantity of feed that their body needs on a regular basis, vitamin supplements are equally very essential for them to achieve their ideal maturity.
Do not forget, an equine's growth is not complete until it is four years old, however several are put through major requirements (racing, jumping, and hunting) just before this age. A late-born equine, say in April or May, is yet a "kid" although technically a 2-year old and its healthy progression could severely be ruined irrevocably. Thankfully choosing the most effective horse supplements counter this problem when provided routinely all through its young life.
Additionally the balances between particular substances of carefully formulated equine supplement might be upset,as an example the Calcium and Phosphorus relative amount with probable really serious implications, including development of bone enlargement, distortion, limbs that are misshaped and laziness. Homeopathic products are included in quality supplements for horses in infinitely small amounts, catalytic volumes which often are very active, but at the same time they are completely harmless and non-toxic with no negative effects. These don't interact with any alternative formula.

Pet Health and Vitamins - Necessary Supplements For Cats
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ima_Johnson]Ima Johnson
One way to ensure that your pet will live a long and happy life is to make sure he or she receives the correct forms of nutrition that promote positive pet health. Different pets all have their own unique needs while a cat's vitamin intake is different of a dog. By following some simple general rules of thumb and knowing what types of vitamins your cat needs, you will be on your way to a raising a healthful and playful feline.
Does My Cat Need Vitamins
In general, vitamins are only needed for cats with certain deficiencies that create the need for supplements although it is suggested that even healthy cats can reap the benefits of vitamin supplements in small amounts. Cat food has come a long way in providing your feline with the proper nutrition he or she needs; however, processing, packaging, and shipping can take their toll on a once healthy and nutritious meal. Due to this fact, some believe than even though many cats display a healthy lifestyle and look, they may still be lacking when it comes to certain vitamins in the body.
What Type Of Vitamins Should I Give My Cat
One should keep in mind that he or she should not start any vitamin regiments without first consulting their veterinarian. While we want to help our cats in every way, there can be instances where it would not promote proper pet health to supplement with certain vitamins. However, you can speak with your vet about vitamin supplements and a good place to start is with the water soluble supplements. Some important water soluble vitamins are the "B" category, which will give your pet niacin, riboflavin, and thiamine, nutrients essential to pet growth.
Fat Soluble
Other vitamins that promote pet health and are great for cats are fat soluble vitamins. These include Vitamin D, A, E, and K, which are deposited in the fatty portions of your feline's body. However, one should make sure that he or she discusses these types of vitamins with his or her vet as fat soluble supplements can cause problems if given in excess. The vitamin A is especially important to your feline as it promotes skin as well as coat problems and can also cause issues with their night vision as well.
Other Trace Nutrients
Along with the vital nutrients that a cat must have, there are other vitamins that should be monitored. Iron is a very important vitamin for cats and a deficiency can result in a compromised immune system along with anemia. Another important nutritional supplement is calcium, which is essential for pregnant and lactating cats. Finally, some vitamins that are important in very small amounts are potassium and sodium chloride. Both are great for keeping your cat hydrated and are essential during the hot summer months. Again, there are many helpful aspects to adding supplements to your cat's meal time; however, it is best advised that you consult your physician before beginning any regiment to ensure your cat is getting what he or she needs and not an over abundance of vitamin intake.

Do We Need Vitamin and Mineral Supplements

Do We Need Vitamin and Mineral Supplements?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Henri_K._Junttila]Henri K. Junttila
I'm going to cut right to the chase. You want to know if you need vitamin and mineral supplements to stay healthy, right?
The simple answer is yes, but it has a big BUT attached to it. You see, you can't just run to the nearest retail store and pick up a multivitamin brand and be done with it.
Why not you may ask? That's an excellent question, which I tend to answer in detail. Many nutritional companies today are trying to increase their profits by using cheap ingredients and often excluding the really good nutrients altogether.
This might mean that you save a few bucks, but you will essentially be flushing your money down the toilet, because if your body cannot use the vitamins and minerals you take, what good are they?
I personally don't like to buy a vitamin AND mineral supplement separately, because it is very expensive in the long-run if you use good products.
That's why I use only the best multivitamin brand available today.
Before you buy a natural multivitamin brand, I recommend you look for something natural, powerful and proven safe.
How do you do this?
You look for ingredients that have been proven effective, such as resveratrol, green tea, SAMe and L-Carnosine, just to name a few off the top of my head.
You should also look for a product that is 100% natural, because there are a lot of chemicals and unnatural ingredients floating out there. They have been proven to cause damage to your health, which is not what you want.
So do you need vitamin and mineral supplements? Definitely. Is it hard to find something that works? Absolutely.
And that is why I decided to write this article. I want to help you and I want to tell you that if you come across an opportunity to learn more about a multivitamin brand that works, take it!
I've been researching natural health for over half a decade, despite my young age. I've always been interested in this field. I'm drawn to it you could say.
It took me a long time to find a multivitamin that really works, but I have done it. The product I use comes from New Zealand.
I have even recommended it to my mother, who is now raving out how great it is to her friends. That has never happened before, so it just goes to show you that it is worth putting in some time to research these things.
I personally use this natural multivitamin brand on a daily basis. My girlfriend does too, and we both love it.
I am telling you this because I know you can find something similar if you just put in a small amount of time to research and learn more now.
If you're interested in learning the secrets of finding the best natural multivitamin brand with powerful nutrients and dramatically improving your health, visit my website, where I share what products I personally use for fast, safe and effective results.

7 Mineral and Vitamin Supplements That Prevent Diabetes
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Xylene_Belita]Xylene Belita
Diabetes afflicts millions around the world - 24 million in 2008 in the United States. These numbers grow annually, but with the assistance of 7 mineral and vitamin supplements that prevent diabetes, onset of the condition can be delayed or prevented altogether.
This condition is found in children and adults worldwide. Diabetes causes the blood sugar level in the body to increase, which can only be controlled, as there is currently no cure. There are two types of diabetes: Type 1, which occurs when the body does not produce enough of the hormone insulin that enables the absorption of glucose by the body's cells, and Type 2, which is caused by the body's cells not using insulin properly, otherwise known as insulin resistance.
Vitamin D
One of several vitamins used in the prevention of diabetes is Vitamin D. A recent study at Massey University showed that higher than usual doses of this vitamin may increase insulin sensitivity. Because sunlight is the best source of this vitamin, a higher dose may be particularly useful to people living in colder climes or who do not get the opportunity to get out into the sunshine often.
Vitamin E and Magnesium
Vitamin E is believed to improve insulin activity, as is magnesium, making the insulin more effective and helping to regulate the level of blood sugar in the body. Biotin is one of the B vitamins that has been shown to increase the activity of the enzyme controlling the first stage in glucose utilization, called glucokinase.
Manganese, Zinc, Vanadium and Potassium
People who do not have diabetes have been found to have almost double the manganese that diabetics have in their bodies and due to it's role in glucose metabolism, is important to prevent diabetes. Zinc is used by our bodies in the entire insulin metabolism process. Vanadium and potassium are believed to increase insulin sensitivity, making them an important supplement for prevention.
If the right doses are taken, these vitamins are believed to help prevent diabetes. Because the doses needed to be effective are generally much higher than would normally be required, there is some debate on this topic. Check with a physician before embarking on a supplement program, as there may be pre-existing medical conditions that prevent you from taking certain supplements.
These 7 mineral and vitamin supplements that prevent diabetes can certainly help stave off this condition, but the right amounts must be taken properly in order for them to be really effective.
Vitamins C, B6 and B12 should be part of the control program for diabetics, as these can help reduce some of the symptoms and side effects of diabetes, and should also be included in the vitamin supplements that prevent diabetes

Vitamin Supplements - Should You Use a Multivitamin Without Vitamin K?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Henri_K._Junttila]Henri K. Junttila
Have you ever come across a multivitamin without vitamin K? You might be wondering whether vitamin K is truly important especially when some supplements have this vitamin while some don't. To be able to determine whether you should go for a multivitamin without vitamin K, let us take a look first at the benefits of this vitamin on the health and the body.
• BLOOD CLOTTING
The most commonly known benefit of vitamin K is for blood clotting. In newborns, vitamin K is usually injected to help assist with blood clotting as the newborn is unable to effectively do this alone.
It is also given to patients prior to surgery to help prevent excessive bleeding. In wound healing, vitamin K initiated the process by slowing down and eventually stopping the bleeding.
• ABSORPTION OF CALCIUM
Vitamin K also assists the body absorb calcium, a mineral that is important in bone health. Several studies suggest the value of vitamin K in preventing and treating osteoporosis and preventing loss of bone density.
• ATHEROSCLEROSIS
This vitamin helps protect against heart diseases and heart failure by preventing the arteries from hardening, a condition called atherosclerosis.
• MENSTRUAL PAIN
If you often experience pain and cramps during menstruation, vitamin K can be of help to you. It helps regulate and promote proper functioning of hormones to minimize menstrual pain.
• BLOOD SUGAR
Vitamin K helps keep the pancreas healthy. In fact, the pancreas contains the second highest content of vitamin K in the body. The pancreas is responsible of producing beta cells, which in turn helps control blood sugar levels.
• CANCER
Studies also suggest the value of vitamin K in preventing and treating cancer. Trials done on humans have shown some anti-cancer properties of vitamin K.
Finding the Right Multivitamin
Knowing these different health benefits of vitamin K, it would seem that a multivitamin without vitamin K is not such a good idea. A multivitamin without vitamin K will not be able to give you these health benefits associated with vitamin K.
The content of a multivitamin is important. Make sure that you check the ingredients and make it a point to do your own research when you come across something you are not familiar with.
It is also important to keep yourself updated on important nutrients that the body needs which you can get from multivitamin supplements. Natural ingredients are also important as synthetic ingredients won't be able to provide sufficient nutrition and can even cause harm to the health.

Do You Really Need Natural Vitamin Supplements

Do You Really Need Natural Vitamin Supplements?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kate_Allen]Kate Allen
Natural vitamin supplements have recently been the subject of limited debates concerning their potency. Some quarters in the health sector are raising doubts about the validity of taking those supplementations in maintaining balanced and healthy life. It is, therefore, important that these supplements should be examined clearly, including the very reason for taking them, lest many will just end up spending huge amount of money for worthless products.
Varying sources of vitamins
There is no question about the effectiveness and rationale of getting different nutrients from food sources. Foods remain to be the best and safest sources of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients needed for the sustenance of different biochemical reactions in the body. most of those micronutrients are vital in maintaining normal metabolic processes in the cellular level for the synthesis of various compounds, including enzymes.
Enzymes are particularly important in harnessing biomolecules needed for the optimal performance of varying organs and systems in the body. In fact, it is a basic dictum among health and medical experts that without enzymes, no life is possible to exist.
Right now, nutritionists compute that less one half of actual nutrient content is taken from food sources compared to those consumed half a century ago or more. One leading expert, Tim Lang, a health policy expert based in London, once said that today's oranges contain only around 10% of the original nutrient content found in oranges two generations ago.
Anti-oxidant properties of essential nutrients
Many vitamins are known to be potent anti-oxidants. They aid the body's autoimmune system from fighting the continued onslaught and damaging effects of free radicals and other toxins in the body. Amidst rampant environmental pollution and contamination of food and water sources, the body's defense system has become much weaker in preventing those contaminants from causing different diseases and disorders in the body.
The body alone could not produce its own supply of vitamins. As such, it is important that sustained supply of vitamins, together with other minerals and nutrients, should be established in order to protect the body from being invaded by a lot of infections and systemic dysfunctions. Knowing that food sources alone could not supply the much needed vitamin requirement, it is vital that the same natural substances should be taken from natural vitamin supplements.
Foremost problem facing people taking them, however, is the safety of the products they consume. A handful number of those supplements are laden with synthetic chemical compounds that only mimic the pharmacological behaviors of natural vitamins. Worse, they are able to produce unwanted side effects that weaken further the body's defense system.
One company based in New Zealand has already the respect and admiration of many health experts worldwide. Xtend-Life has been adhering to the strictest quality guidelines since its establishment. Specifically, it has been observing Good Manufacturing Practices or GMP guidelines in order to ensure and preserve the potency and safety of products being made available to the consuming public.
At any rate, whatever brand one is using, it is always helpful to take a little step further to determine if the ingredients used are taken only from natural sources. It is likewise important that those natural vitamin supplements should be made by companies practicing GMP guidelines.
There's no quick fix to cellulite. The best way to reduce it is to fight it with a combination of a healthy diet, exercise, cellulite cream and treatment. Visit my website at http://www.bodycellulite.com for more information.

What Are the Possible Effects of Vitamin Supplement Toxicity
Posted On 2010-05-22 16:26:18 in Vitamins & Supplements
What Are the Possible Effects of Vitamin Supplement Toxicity?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jared_Wright]Jared Wright
Less than half of the people in the United States take daily vitamin supplements. Surprisingly, more than half think vitamins are safe to take, which can account for a higher risk for vitamin supplement toxicity.
Supplemental nutrients that contain iron are the most toxic, particularly where children are concerned, and where fat soluble vitamins are involved.
Fat soluble vitamins can stockpile in the body and become toxic. According to the poison control centers in the US, there were 58,622 reports of overdosing on various vitamin supplements in 2007, resulting in 17 adverse outcomes and one death. Out of all reported cases 45,498 of them involved in children less than than 6 years old. Persons aged 6-19 of age accounted for 7,693 reported exposures.
Symptoms of vitamin supplement toxicity:
Vitamin A:
Vitamin A can be obtained from vegetables, liver, egg yolks, fish oil, and margarine. The most common reported symptoms of vitamin A overdose include:
Headache, vision difficulties, anorexia, nausea/vomiting, abdominal discomfort, sluggishness, seizures
Vitamin D:
Vitamin D can be found in fish, eggs, fortified milk, and cod liver oil. You only need ten minutes of sunshine to get the recommended daily requirement. Therefore, caution should be exercised when taking vitamin D dietary supplements. Symptoms of overdose can manifest as:
- Increased serum calcium levels.
- Weakness in the muscles.
- Loss of interest.
- Headache.
- Anorexia.
- Easily irritated nausea/vomiting.
- Bone pain
- Constipation.
- Increased thirst and urination hypertension.
- Heart palpitations.
Vitamin E:
Although this vitamin has it's benefits, there is risk for toxicity when more than what is recommended has been ingested. Signs of higher than normal levels include:
Nausea, gastric problems, abdominal cramping, frequent loose stool, headache, lethargy, easy skin bruising, prolonged bleeding.
Vitamin K:
This vitamin plays an important role in blood clotting. Babies who are given formula can often suffer from problems as can those being given injections for a vitamin K deficiency.
Infants may also present with jaundice, hemolytic anemia, and increased bilirubin levels. Due to this risk, treatment using vitamin k-3 has been discontinued.
While in general your health can be improved with supplements, it is a good idea to seek medical advice first. A good healthy diet will go a long way to eliminating the need for these supplements and a blood test can confirm what is missing from your diet.
Any signs that you are suffering from an overdose should be immediately followed up with a visit to your doctor to avoid serious complications.

Understanding Vitamin and Mineral Supplements For Teens
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jared_Wright]Jared Wright
Teenagers are at one of the busiest growth stages of their life and it is important for them to be getting all the right nutrients to support that growth.
Their diet may be comprised of pizza, fried foods, chips, and sugar-laden sodas, making a ripe atmosphere for the development of acne and other health problems.
What is a vitamin?
Vitamins are essential nutrients found in most of the foods we eat, as well as in dietary supplements. They are critical in helping our bodies to function normally, slow the aging process, and help fight disease.
A good diet will usually be enough for us to receive all the essential nutrients, but if a particular area is lacking, supplements can be used.
Two categories:
Essential nutrients are available as fat soluble and water soluble. Fat soluble vitamins easily dissolve in fat and can accumulate in the body to cause toxicity. Fat soluble vitamins include A, D, E, and K.
Water soluble vitamins on the other hand are not stored by the body and need to be constantly replenished. Examples of this category are vitamins B and C.
Vitamin sources:
Vitamins come from plant sources while minerals come from the soil and aren't organic. They are soaked up by plants and eaten by animals. This allows us to get our required intake of these nutrients.
What are the benefits of supplements?
